The Hoon studio was established in Munich in 2020 as an atelier-style architectural design studio led by Korean architects with academic and professional backgrounds in both Germany and South Korea.

We focus on residential architecture, designing a wide range of housing typologies — from new construction to thoughtful renovations and extensions. A particular characteristic of our work is the reinterpretation of historically layered homes, including projects involving heritage-protected properties (Denkmalschutz). In these projects, we aim to preserve architectural integrity and comply with both contemporary building codes and heritage conservation regulations, while gently introducing modern ways of living that bring renewed relevance and character to each space.

Our architectural approach is deeply informed by spatial values found in traditional Korean design — especially the idea of openness, where natural light and air move freely and intuitively. This results in residential environments that feel simultaneously grounded and refreshing, offering an experience that is locally attuned yet uniquely personal.

We pursue architecture with longevity—spaces that evolve with time, offering depth, calm, and a sense of belonging. Our scope also includes interior design, graphic design, and branding, allowing us to deliver holistic and coherent solutions that connect space, identity, and experience across all stages of a project.
